	Memory Index – Tulpa
Memory Index drops “Tulpa” with a Twin Peaks-inspired darkness that feels genuinely unsettling. Jackson VanHorn handles everything here: writing, performing, recording, and mixing.
The song captures that Lynch-ian sense of reality coming apart at the seams. VanHorn’s lyrics paint scenes of surface-level normalcy hiding something fractured underneath: quiet rooms, altars, ghosts of people you once knew. It’s darkwave territory but grounded in actual songwriting rather than just atmosphere.
Production-wise, this sounds intentionally dark. Mastered at Landsraad Studios, the mix gives space for each element to breathe while maintaining that post-punk tension. The Josef K influence shows in the guitar work – angular but melodic, driving the track forward without overwhelming the vocal delivery.
Cold Transmission Music continues its streak of finding artists who comprehend that good dark music needs substance behind the mood.
