VOV VOV! – Nancy’s Track
VOV VOV! delivers “Nancy’s Track”, a hazy, hypnotic swirl of krautrock repetition and shoegaze dreaminess—proof that the Florentine psych-rockers know how to make lo-fi sound. The track, lifted from their debut EP Sunbathing in a Magnetic Field (out May 9 via Factory Flaws), balances easy-listening melody with rough-edged groove, like a vintage organ playing through a busted speaker.
The band admits the song’s early drafts vaguely evoked Nancy Sinatra—hence the title—but the final version is darker, splitting itself into two alternating sections that feel like the before-and-after of a bad night. The lyrics sketch a violent love story where daylight reveals the damage done, and a caress tries (poorly) to undo it. Musically, it’s all relentless rhythm, with drums and bass locking into a pulse while synths bleep like distant road signs.
If this is the sketch, they claim, the finished painting must be wild. Sunbathing in a Magnetic Field drops on May 9—just in time for summer.
