Tunde Adebimpe – Drop

Tunde Adebimpe – Drop

Tunde Adebimpe’s upcoming solo debut, Thee Black Boltz (out April 18 via Sub Pop Records), dangles existential musings over a beatbox pulse. The latest single, “Drop,” starts with rhythmic mouth percussion before dissolving into misty synths and guitar riffs that echo late-night overthinking. Produced by Jahphet Landis, the track stitches Adebimpe’s sky-high vocals to a sparse and hypnotic groove.

Adebimpe frames the album as a solo tightrope act—no TV on the Radio collaborators to catch him—with co-producer Wilder Zoby helping shape raw, lo-fi sketches into reflections on grief and global chaos. Thee Black Boltz promises a DIY blending frayed edges and cosmic questions. For now, “Drop” offers a teaser: a track that’s less about answers and more about floating in the void.
