Bryony Jarman-Pinto – Willow (Birch Community Mix)
Bryony Jarman-Pinto reconnects with longtime collaborator Werkha for a remix of “Willow” from her album ‘Below Dawn’. The new version pays tribute to Manchester’s Birch Community Centre, a meaningful place in Werkha’s (Tom Leah) upbringing and now home to vinyl dance nights.
The collaboration marks another chapter in their long-running creative partnership, which began at BlueJam Arts and led to several successful projects, including Bryony’s debut album ‘Cage and Aviary’. While the original “Willow” stands as a protest against political ignorance, Werkha’s remix adds soulful electronic elements and breakbeat-inspired rhythms.
“Tom and I have been friends since we were kids”, Bryony reflects. “It’s lovely to have a remix that links ‘Below Dawn’ to our upbringing and musical history”.
