Katie Gavin – Casual Drug Use

Katie Gavin – Casual Drug Use

Katie Gavin, known for her work with MUNA, released her single “Casual Drug Use”. Written in 2016 after a breakup, the song explores themes of youth, friendship, and the comfort found in shared experiences.

“Casual Drug Use” is the second single from Gavin’s upcoming debut solo album, “What A Relief”, set for release on October 25th via Saddest Factory Records. The album promises to cover a wide range of Gavin’s life experiences, focusing on the desire for connection and the challenges that come with it.

The accompanying music video, directed by Gavin herself, was filmed during a road trip with her childhood best friend, adding a personal touch to the visual narrative. Shot using Kodak film and an iPhone, the video features colourful “potions”, symbolising the various substances people use to alter their moods.
