Peel Dream Magazine – Dawn
Peel Dream Magazine is back with some new tunes, and they’re sounding great. They’ve just dropped two tracks, “Dawn” and “Central Park West”, from their upcoming album “Rose Main Reading Room”. This is their fourth full-length, and it’s shaping up to be something special.
“Dawn” kicks things off with this beautiful, building sound. It’s got these fluttering woodwinds that remind you of early morning birdsong. The band’s frontman, Joe Stevens, says it’s about the start of a day and all the possibilities that come with it. It’s simple, but it grows on you in a really nice way.
The whole album seems to be a love letter to New York City. It’s named after the Rose Main Reading Room at the New York Public Library, and it’s full of references to city landmarks. But it’s not just about the city – Stevens weaves in themes of nature, evolution, and the wider world.
“Rose Main Reading Room” is set to drop on September 4th via Topshelf Records.
