Stereocalypse – How No (feat. Irvine Welsh)

Stereocalypse – How No (feat. Irvine Welsh)

Stereocalypse, dynamic duo comprising Olderic and Andrea Doria, teams up with the legendary Irvine Welsh for their latest single, “How No,” released on June 14, 2024, via Lele Sacchi’s Stolen Goods Records. Known for their seamless blend of analogue textures and modern sounds, Stereocalypse has rapidly carved out a niche with remixes for artists like WhoMadeWho and Agoria, as well as releases on esteemed labels such as Innervisions and Running Back.

“How No” is the result of an intense and rapid collaborative effort, characterized by its psyched-out synths and relentless chugging rhythms. The track’s pulsating bass and compelling groove lay the foundation for Irvine Welsh’s raw and guttural vocal delivery, enriched with dark, evocative lyrics. This marks Welsh’s return to music since his 1997 appearance on Primal Scream’s “The Big Man And The Scream Team Meet The Barmy Army Uptown.”

The collaboration was facilitated by their manager, the Neapolitan promoter and writer Augusto Penna, linking Stereocalypse with Welsh, whose cultural influence and deep roots in the acid house scene bring an added layer of authenticity and depth to the project. The single “How No” is accompanied by a remix from Innervisions’ Âme, scheduled for release on June 28, 2024.
