Dave Guy – 7th Heaven
Dave Guy steps into the spotlight with his solo debut “7th Heaven,” featuring Clairo. Known for his trumpet prowess with Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, Menahan Street Band, and The Roots, Guy channels his funk and jazz roots into this vibrant track. The song emerged during a creative burst amid the WGA strike, allowing Guy to explore personal musical ambitions. “7th Heaven” showcases a lively trumpet lead, with Clairo’s ethereal vocals adding a unique layer to the jazz-infused melody. Guy’s nod to Tijuana Brass and Herb Alpert is evident, delivering a catchy, energetic track that maintains his signature groove. Expect his full album, Ruby, this September.
