BEAK>, the innovative trio led by Geoff Barrow, surprises fans with their fourth studio album, “>>>>.” Released via Invada Records UK, this album follows their 2018 release “>>>,” and is designed to be an immersive auditory experience rather than a collection of singles. According to the band, the album was conceived as “head music,” meant to be listened to as a cohesive whole.

The creation process for “>>>>” began in the tranquil setting of Pen Y Bryn in Talsarnau, Wales, during the aftermath of the pandemic. With views of Portmeirion providing inspiration, the band started recording, with the metronomic “Strawberry Line” setting the tone for the album. The sessions then moved to Invada Studios in Bristol, as the band balanced recording with touring across Europe and the Americas.

The lead track, “The Seal,” exemplifies the band’s return to their roots, focusing on spontaneous and collaborative creation. BEAK> found themselves influenced by the extensive touring, leading them to strip back expectations and rediscover their original sound.

With its seamless blend of analog warmth and innovative rhythms, “>>>>” invites listeners to lose themselves in its layers. The band will embark on a tour in November, performing the album in full for the first time, ensuring that audiences experience the album as intended—a continuous, enveloping journey through sound.
