BAD WITH PHONES – drive.

BAD WITH PHONES – drive.

BAD WITH PHONES, the alter ego of Deptford’s own Manny, introduces us to his latest single ‘drive.’ via Don’t Sleep. This synth-pop creation is a journey through late-night emotions, capturing the essence of longing and romance with a hint of delusion. Manny’s vocals drift effortlessly through languid verses, intertwined with tone-rich instrumental interludes that evoke the neon glow of city nights.

Manny describes ‘drive.’ as a romantic ballad born from the desire to own the karaoke stage, to sing passionately in the midst of friends, albeit with a touch of madness in the pursuit of love. The song’s genesis in Berlin, a city that fuels his creativity, adds a unique edge to its sound. The accompanying visuals are not just a retelling of a real-life crash but serve as a metaphor for choosing love, despite its highs and lows.

This track follows ‘Don’t Talk To Me’, a post-punk immersion where Manny explored character role play. As he gears up for his debut album ‘CRASH’, set to release this summer, we can expect a collection of tracks reflecting his psychedelic journey of emotional peaks and valleys. Described as “intimate anthems, love songs, and comedown soothers”, ‘CRASH’ promises to deliver vibes in abundance.
