Fan Girl – Easy Now
Fan Girl are scattered across three continents right now — Guadalajara, Paris, Melbourne — and their new single “Easy Now” is essentially a product of that distance. Written and produced across time zones exactly eight hours apart, it’s the first taste of their upcoming EP 8HRS, due April 24 via Community Music Distribution.
The song holds on to someone slowly drifting away — that specific ache of knowing you might have to let go. But the music doesn’t sit still with it. It’s anxious and weirdly soothing at the same time. The band produced and mixed it themselves (with additional mixing from Luke Thomas), and Felix Davis at Metropolis Mastering handled the master. Written by vocalist Noah Harris and multi-instrumentalist Vincent McIntyre, who also handles guitars, synths, piano, drums and production — the track credits make clear how much of this is an in-house operation.
Fan Girl have been building momentum since their previous EP Real or Staged and the single “Flood”, which they followed with a first UK tour and a BBC 6 Music New Music Fix Live Session. 8HRS positions them somewhere between experimental indie, trip-hop, and atmospheric rock — influences drawn from three very different cities, filtered into four tracks.
