mclusky – i know computer

Welsh post-hardcore trio mclusky announce a new mini-album i sure am getting sick of this bowling alley, out digitally March 20 and on vinyl May 1 via Ipecac Recordings. Lead single “i know computer” is out now.

The six-song release comes quick after last year’s The World Is Still Here and So Are We, their first album in 20 years. Frontman Andrew “Falco” Falkous says the band can’t stop writing. “Fact is we can’t stop writing, at least at the moment. It’s fun (that’s all it needs to be). It’s the common denominator of band. Only death will slow us down (note – it won’t stop us)”.

“i know computer” is two minutes of skeletal post-hardcore built around Damien Sayell’s prominent bass lines. Falkous provides guitar stabs, and the band settles into a skronky rhythmic workout by the chorus—an utterly sarcastic chant of “it’s a real nice feeling”. Falkous jokes, “Damien probably likes ‘I am computer’ a bit too much but that’s okay, the heart wants what the heart wants”.

mclusky—Falkous, drummer Jack Egglestone, and bassist Damien Sayell—reunited in 2022 with the comeback single “Unpopular Parts of a Pig / The Digger You Deep”. Their North American tour kicks off March 24 in Denver and runs through April 11 in Washington, DC.
