Sébastien Tellier – Parfum Diamant
Sébastien Tellier returns with “Parfum Diamant”, a synth-laced track that captures the feeling of young love and summer daydreams. The song appears on his upcoming album “Kiss The Beast” (out January 30 via Because Music) and arrives with a minimalist COLORS SHOW performance filmed in Berlin. It’s his first full-length since 2020’s “Domesticated”, marking six years between albums.
Tellier describes the song as a reflection on adolescent emotions, remembering moments like lying in the grass watching the sky and sharing ice cream. The lyrics paint scenes of youthful freedom and fleeting romance, with lines about sharing dreams and swimming through the universe together. He sings in French about being “young and beautiful” under blue skies, planes passing overhead, feeling weightless and high on new emotions. The song captures that specific feeling when everything seems possible and time stretches endlessly.
The production keeps things relatively stripped down, letting Tellier’s voice carry the nostalgic weight. It’s one of the more autobiographical moments on “Kiss The Beast”, which he calls “an ode to adolescence and love”. The track weaves personal memory with universal themes, finding magic in simple moments of connection.
Tellier hits the road in February for a European tour, with multiple Paris shows at L’Olympia already sold out. The French Touch icon continues building on a catalogue that includes cult favourites like “Universe”, “Divine”, and “Roche”, maintaining his signature look of long hair, beard, cap, and dark sunglasses.
