	The Weather Station – Airport
Tamara Lindeman releases “Airport” from The Weather Station, recorded during the “Humanhood” sessions but left off the album due to its narrative arc. The single arrives alongside “Only The Truth”, ahead of her UK and European tour starting November 1st.
“Airport” is quiet and propulsive, with synths humming softly under Lindeman’s voice. “I’ve always hated airports; I find them so dehumanizing,” she says. “This song tells a story of a person trying to mirror what is around them—that sort of shutting down, not caring, acting like you don’t care even when you really do. At the heart of it though is, of course, an intense longing, and a hope for something alive that feels like it can’t be.”
The track features the “Humanhood” rhythm section of Kieran Adams and Phil Melanson, plus Ben Whiteley on bass, Dom Billet on mellotron, and Ben Boye on synth. Marcus Paquin handled initial production before Whiteley and Lindeman reimagined it. Joseph Lorge mixed, João Carvalho mastered.
“Humanhood” received praise from The Wall Street Journal as “a beautifully orchestrated album” and NPR Music called it “the best thing that she’s done to date”. Lindeman’s tour includes festival appearances, a co-headline with Destroyer, and a London Jazz Festival performance with a string quartet.
