Disiniblud – Blue Rags, Raging Wind (Kelly Moran Remix)
Los Angeles duo Disiniblud—Rachika Nayar and Nina Keith—announce a remix EP dropping December 5 via Smugglers Way/Domino, featuring reworks from Kelly Moran, Baths, The Field, Daedelus, and Cis Angel (Keith’s ambient alias). The EP also includes the previously released Kerry McCoy (Deafheaven) remix.
Kelly Moran’s take on “Blue Rags, Raging Wind” reshapes the track around her signature piano work and electronic textures. She explains she was obsessing over Koreless’s production on FKA Twigs’ “Eusexua” while working on this, which inspired her to chop up vocal samples into glitchy, propulsive patterns. The remix starts with stretched-out ambience before building into what Moran calls “pulsating, beautiful chaos.”
Disiniblud’s self-titled debut arrived earlier this year to critical acclaim. Nayar’s 2022 album “Heaven Come Crashing” earned Pitchfork’s Best New Music and landed on year-end lists from The New York Times, Stereogum, and others. Keith’s 2019 debut “MARANASATI 19111” combined piano, flute, voice, and modular synth.
The duo are currently on their North American headline tour, wrapping up West Coast dates in Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, and Los Angeles before heading to the UK and Europe in November. They’ll play Pitchfork Music Festival London on November 5 at EartH Theatre, followed by dates in Bristol, Manchester, Brussels, Paris, Berlin, Hamburg, Stockholm, and Copenhagen.
