Lauren Auder – yes
Lauren Auder’s “yes” marks a shift toward pop and dance music for the London-based artist, two years after her debut album “The Infinite Spine” Co-written and co-produced with longtime collaborators dviance and Alex Parish, the track draws from house-influenced piano work and Madchester grooves.
Auder describes the production as pushing further into dance territory than previous work, using tightly packed vocal delivery to express how time speeds up when you’re falling for someone.
Since her debut, Auder has built a reputation fusing classical elements with post-rock and experimental production. She’s collaborated with Caroline Polachek, Clams Casino, Danny L Harle, and Wendy & Lisa, and composed music for Virgil Abloh’s Louis Vuitton campaigns. Her three EPs before “The Infinite Spine” established her voice as someone willing to tackle generational anxiety and personal turmoil without defaulting to indie rock formulas.
Auder toured with Christine & The Queens, Deafheaven, and Amen Dunes, and recently supported Famous at London’s ICA. “yes” signals a new direction after spending time in the classical-leaning chamber pop space.
