Sleaford Mods – Megaton

Sleaford Mods return with “Megaton”, their first new material since 2023’s “UK GRIM”. Jason Williamson and Andrew Fearn deliver their signature post-punk formula – rolling beats, atmospheric electronics, and acerbic bars targeting cultural mediocrity.

Williamson’s central rallying cry “Megaton, No War No Death!” cuts through social media’s noise and separatism. He paints a picture of society “squirming like an overloaded petri dish full of algae fed by the algorithm” – genocide mixed with gym pics and cat memes.
Nick Waplington directed the video at Speaker’s Corner in Hyde Park, placing the band among Sunday morning speakers at Britain’s oldest free speech forum.

The single comes with B-side “Give ‘Em What They Want” on a November 7th seven-inch release. Red vinyl from Rough Trade, blue from indie shops, black for general sale. Williamson mentioned working on a new album in recent interviews, promising “blocks of shouting” over Andrew Fearn’s “whole universe of selection”.
