h. pruz – Arrival
New York singer-songwriter Hannah Pruzinsky returns as h. pruz with “Arrival,” the lead single from her upcoming album “Red Sky At Morning.” The track builds around fingerpicked guitar arpeggios that gradually swell alongside Pruzinsky’s lyrics: “Promises start in the house/ Board up the doors, paradise is found.”
Co-produced with Felix Walworth of Told Slant/Florist, the song explores what Pruzinsky calls “stepping over the edge of rationality.” She wrote it during a period of domestic stagnation that left her feeling internally restless. The arrangement stays minimal but purposeful, letting the guitar work drive the emotional arc while her voice finds room to breathe and build.
The album title comes from the ancient proverb “red sky at night, sailor’s delight; red sky at morning, sailors take warning”, also referenced in the New Testament. Pruzinsky uses it to examine how to find courage despite ominous signs ahead. V. Haddid and Florist’s Emily Sprague directed the music video.
This marks h. pruz’s second album, following last year’s “No Glory.” The record arrives November 7th on Mtn. Laurel Recording Co.
