Jalen Ngonda – All About Me

Jalen Ngonda surprises fans with “All About Me”, a lovers’ rock departure from his usual soul sound. The track came together when producer Victor Axelrod (Ticklah) noticed similarities between Ngonda’s voice and a young Bitty McLean. Axelrod already had the instrumental beds recorded but needed the right vocalist.

Once Ngonda joined the sessions, they wrote lyrics and recorded vocals in a single night. Written from an arrogant lover’s perspective, the song blends party-forward swing with stellar vocal performance. It’s a pop-forward gem that bridges soul and reggae scenes perfectly.

Axelrod, who played keys on Ngonda’s previous album, suggested doing something in the Bitty McLean style. The result highlights Ngonda’s remarkable vocal range in an entirely new context.
