Honeyglaze – Turn Out Right
London trio Honeyglaze delved into their vault for “Turn Out Right”, a demo that didn’t make the cut for last year’s “Real Deal” album. Anouska Sokolow describes it as “barebones” and “melancholy tongue-in-cheek, but ultimately hopeful” – which captures the track’s acoustic intimacy perfectly.
“I never check the news when I’m with you,” opens the song, before Sokolow repeatedly sings “Maybe things will turn out right” in the chorus. The stripped-down production keeps focus on the vocals and message.
The track appears on Opus Kink’s “A Hideous Collective” compilation, which raises funds for the Music Venue Trust and the UK Artist Touring Fund. The 24-track release features Wunderhorse, English Teacher, Katy J Pearson, and others supporting grassroots venues. Available September 5th through independent record shops only.
A worthy cause paired with quality music that didn’t deserve to stay buried in the demos folder.
