Saint Etienne – Take Me To The Pilot
After 35 years, Saint Etienne are finally saying adieu with ‘International,’ their 13th and final studio album. But if you’re going to go, you may as well do it with Paul Hartnoll from Orbital doing the production. ‘Take Me To The Pilot’ proves that some bands know precisely when to exit a party, while everyone still wants them to stay. The whole thing started with casual encounters on Hove seafront, which feels very Saint Etienne, big musical moments born from small, everyday connections.
‘Take Me To The Pilot’ captures that Saint Etienne magic. After three decades of defining British electronic pop, they’re not fading away quietly. They’re going out exactly how they lived: making perfect pop songs that somehow sound timeless.
