FloFilz – Setagaya Samba
FloFilz opens a new chapter with ‘Setagaya Samba’, the first taste of his upcoming album. Inspired by the laid-back, leafy district of Setagaya in Tokyo, the track does exactly what its name suggests—it strolls. Calm, crafted, and not in a rush to impress, it blends samba-tinged rhythms with jazz textures.
Rooted in Berlin since 2020, FloFilz brings classical training (yes, he’s a violinist) into a world of lo-fi beats and soul-infused grooves. He started in orchestras, pivoted to beatmaking in 2012, and hasn’t looked back—unless it’s to sample something.
‘Setagaya Samba’ is quietly confident. It doesn’t scream innovation, it just quietly makes you want to hear it again. Produced and mixed by FloFilz himself and mastered by Roe Beardie, the track was released via Melting Pot Music.
The whole album’s not here yet, but this single already sets the mood: sophisticated, warm, and elusive enough to keep curiosity.
