Joe Armon-Jones – One Way Traffic (feat. Yazmin Lacey)
Joe Armon-Jones serves up “One Way Traffic”, featuring Yazmin Lacey, as the closing statement for his upcoming album All The Quiet (Part II). The south London keyboardist seems particularly fond of this collaboration, describing it as one of his favorites from the project made with “one of my favourite people in music”.
The track showcases Armon-Jones’ versatility as both keyboardist and producer, drawing from his extensive background in jazz, dub, electronic, pop, and hip-hop. His virtuoso piano playing takes centre stage, supported by what he calls “the vanguard of the album sound”, Nat Birchall on drums and Mutale Chashi on bass.
As an alumnus of Tomorrow’s Warriors and a BRIT Award-winning Ezra Collective member, Armon-Jones has established himself as a sought-after collaborator across genres. His improvisatory talents have made him the kind of musician other artists call when they want to elevate their sound without overthinking it.
“One Way Traffic” represents the culmination of All The Quiet (Part II), which drops June 13th. Its positioning as the album’s final track suggests it serves as both conclusion and statement of intent—a showcase of collaborative chemistry that apparently develops when you genuinely enjoy the people you’re making music with.
