Jerskin Fendrix – Sk1

Experimental pop artist Jerskin Fendrix has returned with “Sk1,” his first substantial release since his acclaimed 2020 debut album “Winterreise.” The single arrives amid hints of a sophomore album, with cryptic “JERSKIN 2025” messages across his social media profiles suggesting more.

In the interim, Fendrix has made a substantial impact in film composition, collaborating with director Yorgos Lanthimos on “Poor Things” (2023), “Kinds of Kindness” (2024), and the upcoming “Bugonia.” His work on “Poor Things” earned him Oscar, BAFTA, and Golden Globe nominations, plus an Ivor Novello award and dual honors at the 2024 World Soundtrack Awards as Film Composer of the Year and Discovery of the Year.

“Sk1” follows his April release “Jerskin Fendrix Freestyle,” described as “frantic, jazz band-supported rambling.” While details about the new track’s sound are limited, one reviewer notes its “crunchy post-punk tapestries interweaving around one another,” proposing a return to the experimental electronic foundations that defined his debut while incorporating the artistic growth from his soundtrack work.
