Aesop Rock – Send Help
Aesop Rock’s Send Help is precisely what you’d expect from the rap world’s favourite hermit – a masterclass in dense wordplay over dusty boom-bap. The self-produced track lurches forward with that signature Aesop swing: no features here, just 100% unfiltered lyrical contortionism.
The song previews Black Hole Superette, an album supposedly about life’s invisible forces – convenience store neon, airport limbo, the usual existential dread. Guests like Lupe Fiasco and Armand Hammer appear elsewhere on the record, but Send Help keeps it solitary, complete with a video co-directed by El Coro starring Aesop and his absurdly large Irish wolfhound.
Album drops May 30 via Rhymesayers.
