Deradoorian – No No Yes Yes

Deradoorian’s “No No Yes Yes” is the latest single from her upcoming album Ready for Heaven (out May 9 via Fire Records) and takes inspiration from ESG’s stripped-down funk, twisting it into something hypnotic.

The track is a sharp left turn from the art-pop of earlier singles like “Digital Gravestone.” Still, it fits perfectly within the album’s themes of capitalism’s chokehold and the struggle to stay human in a digital age. Deradoorian has described Ready for Heaven as “avowedly anti-capitalist.” However, you wouldn’t know it from how effortlessly “No No Yes Yes” makes resistance sound like something you could dance to.

Produced alone in her studio, the song proves that Deradoorian doesn’t need a band to create something alive—just a bassline, a beat, and the kind of quiet fury that turns a hook into a manifesto.
