Tom Misch – Old Man

Tom Misch – Old Man

Tom Misch is back with a heartfelt new single, “Old Man”, written with Matt Maltese and produced in Nashville alongside Ian Fitchuck.

Created in the cosy setting of his parents’ shed before being polished in the studio, “Old Man” captures Misch’s desire to return to basics: guitar and voice. The song’s simplicity is intentional, reflecting a classic singer-songwriter structure that feels ageless. Misch himself explains, “Recently I’ve really wanted to create songs that work well stripped back in a classic sense… It touches on a lot of things I’ve been going through recently yet I feel it will be just as relevant playing it in 40 years from now.”

The music video, directed by Saddiq Abubakar, perfectly complements the song’s theme, offering a series of touching visuals that capture the evolving relationship between a father and son. The video ends with a poignant moment where Misch performs to an audience of one: his father, Peter Misch. It’s a subtle but powerful tribute, highlighting the song’s introspective and generational themes.
