Propter Hoc – Lonesome Vampire

Propter Hoc’s “Lonesome Vampire” slinks out as the latest taste of their new album Seduction and Betrayal, out March 27 via Cold Transmission Music. It’s a moody affair, pulsing with a vibe that’s all about flesh-and-blood existence—dancing, touching, feeling—while the digital world fizzles into a hollow letdown. The album riffs on Elizabeth Hardwick’s essays about women tangled in love and literature, with tracks like “George Eliot’s Husband” poking at romantic ideals gone sour. “Lonesome Vampire” itself is a dark, hypnotic swirl, built on beats that pull you in and a voice that lingers like a shadow.
