Panda Bear – Ends Meet

In what might be the most elaborate friend reunion ever disguised as an album, Panda Bear returns with “Ends Meet” – the third single from his upcoming album “Sinister Grift” (dropping February 28th via Domino). Noah Lennox apparently decided that if you’re going to break a six-year solo silence, you might as well bring the whole gang along.

Recorded in his Lisbon home studio with Josh “Deakin” Dibb, the track features a guest list that reads like an indie rock family reunion: Animal Collective bandmates Avey Tare and Geologist providing instrumental support, while Maria Reis and Spirit of the Beehive’s Rivka Ravede handle backing vocals.

Dibb, who’s been putting music down on multitrack cassettes with Lennox since 1991, calls the process “a sacred and warm return.” The result feels both like “the songwriter I’ve known for over 30 years” and “some sort of new chapter – which might be the most poetic way possible to say ““ame weird, different day.”
