Osnova – Climbing Dues

“Climbing Dues” by Osnova offers a sweeping dive into the essence of modern shoegaze. Formed in 2018 by guitarist Jean-Claude Vorgeack (JC), the Los Angeles-based band brings the wisdom of JC’s rich musical past to the forefront. With roots in underground scenes and a lifelong obsession with music’s creative possibilities, Osnova embodies a studied yet unpretentious approach to their craft.

Drummer Sam Ribeyro joined early in the band’s journey, bringing rhythmic subtlety and depth to JC’s home-recorded demos. Vocalist Caroline McLaughlin completed the lineup in 2022, her formal training and theatrical background adding a distinct edge to their sound.
