Sharon Van Etten & The Attachment Theory – Trouble

Sharon Van Etten & The Attachment Theory’s latest single, “Trouble,” is a deeply evocative track that delves into the complexities of love, connection, and compromise. Serving as the final preview from their upcoming self-titled album (out February 7 via Jagjaguwar), “Trouble” combines atmospheric production with Van Etten’s lyrical signature.

At its heart, “Trouble” explores the emotional weight of coexisting with loved ones whose opposing beliefs create barriers to full understanding. Van Etten explains, “It’s about when there’s a big part of you that someone who loves you can’t know because it’s not something they want to hear or understand.”

Directed by Susu Laroche, the accompanying video complements the song’s introspective tone, filmed during recording sessions at The Church, the legendary London studio once home to Eurythmics.

With “Trouble,” Sharon Van Etten & The Attachment Theory continue to redefine their sound, blending electronic pop aesthetics with raw, emotional storytelling.
