Daneshevskaya – Scrooge

Anna Beckerman’s project Daneshevskaya returns with “Scrooge”, her first release since 2023’s album “Long Is the Tunnel”. The track, mixed by Marcus Paquin, explores the complex emotions of detachment. Beckerman describes it as a meditation on accepting someone’s departure from your life by recasting them in a different light. “You know you walk just like a baby/ And you leave just like a sneeze”, she sings, capturing this transformation with subtle precision.

The accompanying video, directed by bandmate Maddy Leshner, provides a visual dimension to this emotional exploration. Despite its weighty themes, the song maintains an ethereal quality that has become characteristic of Daneshevskaya’s work.
