Jon Hopkins – Forever Held

Jon Hopkins returns with “Forever Held”, a stunning orchestral piece commissioned by NASA for their immersive experience ‘Space for Earth’. The composition, featuring string arrangements by Ólafur Arnalds, explores our planet’s relationship with space through a cinematic lens.

The track originated from NASA Creative Director Erica Bernhard’s love letters to space, ending with the phrase “forever enveloped in your gravity”. Hopkins transformed this concept into a timeless orchestral piece that captures Earth’s delicate balance of strength and vulnerability.

The release marks another milestone in Hopkins’s productive year, following his album “RITUAL” and collaborations with Coldplay and Charli XCX. “Forever Held” is now featured in NASA’s public installation at their Washington DC headquarters, where it accompanies visitors through an immersive space experience.
