Ghais Guevara – Camera Shy

Philadelphia’s Ghais Guevara makes a significant move, signing with Fat Possum Records for his debut album “Goyard Ibn Said”. Coming off his breakthrough project “There Will Be No Super-Slave”, the activist-turned-rapper demonstrates his evolution with “Camera Shy”, a track that merges chipmunk-soul samples with melodic rap.

The album, set for January 24th, features an impressive lineup including ELUCID, McKinley Dixon, and others, with production primarily handled by Ghais, purdyflacks & LILITH, and DJ Haram.

Shot on 16mm film by Rhys Scarabosio, the accompanying video emphasizes Ghais’ natural screen presence. As he puts it: “I remember the day I figured out the hook for this beat, I told the voice chat ‘Yo we got one’. It definitely feels like the stylistic shift for me. As if I earned enough XP to unlock hitmaker status”.
