Kim Deal – Crystal Breath

Kim Deal – Crystal Breath

Kim Deal, known for her work with Pixies and The Breeders, is releasing her debut solo album “Nobody Loves You More” on November 22 via 4AD. The latest single “Crystal Breath” showcases Deal’s signature style – a blend of fuzzy guitars, pulsating beats, and distorted soundscapes. Deal describes the track as being about “self-loathing and obsessive-compulsive behaviour, but set to a dance beat.” The album features collaborations with various musicians, including her sister Kelley, members of The Breeders, and artists from Teenage Fanclub, The Raconteurs, and Savages. Some songs on the album date back to 2011, while the final recordings were done with Steve Albini in Chicago in late 2022. The accompanying music video, directed by Alex Da Corte, features Deal swaying in front of a green screen, adding a visual element to the song’s eerie atmosphere.
