Divorce – My Room

Divorce – My Room

Nottingham’s quartet, Divorce, has just released their second single of the year, “My Room,” under GRAVITY, produced by Catherine Marks (boygenius, Foals, Wolf Alice). This track stands as a poignant ode to unconditional love, with Tiger Cohen-Towell delivering some of her most vulnerable lyrics to date. It encapsulates the feeling of being back in a childhood bedroom, caught between joy and inexplicable sadness, while children’s voices in the final chorus add a blend of naïveté and gravity.

“My Room” is a testament to Divorce’s evolving sound, showcasing gentle piano rolls, guitar, and drums that create a slow-burning yet uplifting atmosphere. This track follows their March release, “Gears,” and reinforces their knack for creating emotionally charged indie rock.

The band has announced a full UK tour this October, kicking off with a sold-out four-night residency at Nottingham’s Bodega and concluding with their biggest headline show at London’s Islington Assembly Hall. Having shared stages with Bombay Bicycle Club, The Vaccines, and Everything Everything, Divorce is gaining significant traction and international media support. Their Heady Metal EP, released in 2023, received acclaim for its introspective reflections on insecurity, further solidifying their presence in the indie scene.

With “My Room,” Divorce continues to craft music that resonates deeply, blending melancholy and joy in a way that is both raw and beautiful.
