BADBADNOTGOOD – Last Laugh

BADBADNOTGOOD – Last Laugh

BADBADNOTGOOD returns with a vibrant new EP, “Mid Spiral: Chaos,” showcasing their eclectic jazz prowess. The EP, released through XL Recordings, features six tracks with contributions from Felix Fox-Pappas, Tyler Lott, Juan Carlos Medrano, and Kaelin Murphy. Among the standout tracks is “Last Laugh,” a mesmerizing blend of intricate rhythms and soulful melodies.

The EP begins with “Celestial Hands,” setting the tone with its ethereal soundscape, followed by the energetic “Last Laugh,” which captures the trio’s dynamic range and innovative approach to jazz. The song’s rich instrumentation and intricate arrangements highlight BADBADNOTGOOD’s ability to seamlessly blend traditional jazz elements with modern influences.

“Setima Regra” further showcases the trio’s versatility, featuring intricate rhythms and captivating melodies that draw listeners into a sonic journey. Each track on the EP was previewed exclusively on the band’s website last week, building anticipation among fans.

Following their critically acclaimed album “Talk Memory” in 2021, BADBADNOTGOOD has continued to evolve, collaborating with artists like Daniel Caesar, Turnstile, and Baby Rose. Guitarist-saxophonist Leland Whitty released his solo album “Anyhow” in 2022, while bassist Chester Hansen released pop-informed double singles under his Fieldrow project in 2023 and 2024.

With their latest project, BADBADNOTGOOD reaffirms their place in the jazz world, blending innovation with tradition. The band will also be touring throughout the summer, with appearances at London’s Cross The Tracks Festival and Barcelona’s Primavera Sound.
